May 2022 Newsletter
Happy Sunday!
We hope you are doing well and growing in the Lord. Never lose sight of Him, especially during these days. He promises never to leave us or forsake us.
In this newsletter, we are highlighting two of the ministries we are involved in. Both are a great joy and blessing to us.
We look forward to a few visitors coming this summer. Our regional Director is coming May 19-27. He will be evaluating us, our ministry and offering advice where needed.
Caleb’s daughter will visit Liberia for the first time in her life. She will be meeting many family members!!!
Some of the women of New Hope Christian Church Manassas, VA will be doing VBS July 9-July 22.
Pastor Jon and team will be coming at the beginning of September for the opening ceremony of the Guesthouse. Two members of the team will also be holding a Financial Seminar, which is highly needed!

Are We Defined by Our Past or Our Sins, Like the Woman caught in Adultery?
Kataka Prison Ministry
For those of you who follow Grace to Liberia on Facebook, you know that we have a prison ministry in Kataka. We go to Kataka Central Prison every other week to hold Bible studies with some of the inmates.
The study can last two hours or more because the discussions can become very lively and engaging. Some of the inmates have excelled in their Bible knowledge and can now teach others. There are even a few Muslims who attend the Bible study and they bring their Quran to discuss differences.
Since meeting there almost two years ago, we have never asked any of the inmates why they were serving time. Even to this date, we do not ask them what they did nor do they provide that information. We see them as any human being separated from God in need of salvation (Romans 3:23). Since they have put their faith in Jesus, they are brand new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Recently, we were commenting to someone how much one particular inmate has grown. That person knew the inmate personally and why he was convicted.
Our question is this:
Can Grace/Jesus change a person completely? Is that change possible or is God holding him accountable for certain sins? Do some sins define who we are?
The Good News is that Jesus paid for ALL of our sins on the Cross and we are all justified by his resurrection. God is not holding our sins against us (Romans 4:7-8, 2 Cor 5:19, Col 2:14, Hebrew 8:12, Hebrew 10:17). When a person believes in Jesus as their Savior, they then enter into the forgiveness provided for them 2000 years ago in Jesus Christ.
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me” – Gal 2:20 NLT
I believe Jesus can so completely transform us that we are like a caterpillar that becomes a butterfly.
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! – 2 Cor 5:17 NLT
A New Antenna
Grace to Liberia partnered with Destiny Radio in May 2021; since that time Monika has been the Station Manager/CFO. The station was in poor condition and needed lots of upgrading. One of the major issues has been the the antenna being used, which was 12 years old and the range of the signal barely went outside of Kakata.
Last May, we ordered an antenna from Europe and it arrived in September. However, there is only one reasonably priced technician in Liberia that can install the antenna and he was backlogged eight months. April 28th is our CEO’s birthday, so I begged the technician to have it done as a gift to him. He came! The signal went from 228 MHz to 344 MHz and we are now able to reach areas 20 miles away. We are praying to get a new transmitter. When that materializes, we may consider reducing the hours at other stations or eliminating them completely in order to save money.
